Sony Vaio AC Adapter Recall Issued

After a series of reports regarding adapters short circuiting, Sony Electronics and the U.S. Consumer Product Saftey Commission  (CPSC) has issued a voluntary recall on the Sony VGP-AC19V17 AC adapter.

No injuries have been reported but there is a potential for a shock hazard so consumers should turn off their computer, unplug it and the return the AC adapter and receive a free replacement.

The Sony computers that use the VGP-AC19V17 adpater inlcude;

All-in-one VAIO Desktop VGC-LT series and VGC-JS2
Computers series
------------------------------- -----------------------------
VAIO Docking Stations VGP-PRBX1 and VGP-PRFE1
