It's been more than five years since the last night launch of a Space Shuttle, and viewing tickets sold out within minutes of going on sale in mid-February.The sky was overcast on the mainland, but over Launch Pad A on Merritt Island, the night sky was clear and beautiful.
This short video brings the experience home as thousands gathered on the Florida coast to watch the spectacular night launch of STS-123, the Space Shuttle mission carrying the Endeavor orbiter into the longest shuttle mission to date.
