According to a study done by J.D. Power and Associates the iPhone ranks the highest among "business wireless Smartphone users."

The study, in its second year now, measures five key factors: Ease of operation; operating system; physical design; handset features; battery aspects.

The iPhone has not only become the preferred wireless Smartphone among business users but it has also just recently surpassed the Motorola RAZR as it is today's leading wireless bought by adult consumers during this third quarter in the United States.

It seems as though RIM has a lot to worry about. The iPhone has been proving the industry to be a very successful business tool, very different from what early critics use to say. Those would claim that the iPhone was to be simply more entertainment oriented and not a threat to RIM's control over the business industry. RIM's newest BlackBerry the "Bold" has several new features; however the price tag is still $100 above the iPhone, which could in turn become a decision maker for consumers.

What many are starting to wonder is if RIM will be able to recover from the hard hits its stocks have been taking ever since the beginning of the credit crisis. In a period of 6 months the company has gone from a high of $147.55 to a low of $46.58. Does RIM have what it takes to recover?

Interesting!

HTC is also releasing the "Fuze" to go up against the Blackberry storm. Seems like a 3horse race now in the phone industry. HTC/iphone/blackberry.

The G1 aside, the Fuze follows a pair of successful touchscreen releases from HTC, namely the HTC Touch Diamond and the HTC Touch Pro. Its release further entrenches HTC in the battle of the touchscreen titans, an area dominated by the Apple (NSDQ:AAPL) iPhone 3G. The Fuze also hits the market in time for it to go head-to-head against the soon-to-be-released BlackBerry Storm, the first touchscreen smartphone from BlackBerry maker Research In Motion (NSDQ:RIMM) (RIM) Ltd.

It will also be very interesting to see how the Google Android will fight its way into the competition as well. I've heard that the giant motorola after losing much space in the mobile industry is to adapt its cell phones to use the android platform from google.

Motorola’s new handsets will have an integrated Google button that enables one click access to Google’s homepage, according to the analyst.
The handheld industry fight will be an interesting one to follow up.
