This patent rule will bar processes and methods in doing businesses. Among those are online shopping techniques, medical diagnostic tests, procedures for executing trades on Wall Street and even undercut patents on software formulation and manufacture. The bad side of this ruling might affect high-tech industries as it can invalidate many existing software patents or at it maybe difficult for them to defend their case in lawsuits.
