Swedish luxury car manufacturer Koenigsegg made a deal with US General Motors and bought Saab.

While General Motors is failing to get any profit European Koenigsegg seems to grow bigger.

According to Financial Times GM and Koenigsegg did not confirm the agreement on Friday, but a person close to the sale said a deal was imminent after the Swedish company beat two rival bids.

It's unclier how much is paid for the unit but the sale is expected to be completed by the end of September.

Koenigsegg produces 18 cars a year and employes 45 people. Meanwile Saab sold 93,000 cars in 2008 alone and there's 3,400 people working for the company in Sweden.

Marked ;)

Koenigsegg and Bugatti are going side to side. While Bugatti is owned by VW (if am not wrong) Swedish goes alone. Never though this can happen but maybe in near future theere will be really good sports cars on the market. Well - good for the price

Saab filed for reorganisation under Swedish law on 20 February.

Koenigsegg produces 18 cars a year and employs 45 people, and there has been some doubt as to whether it has the expertise to run Saab, which sold 93,000 cars in 2008.

Saab employs about 3,400 people in Sweden and about 12,000 other jobs in the country are dependent on Saab and its suppliers.

GM's bankruptcy has put a lot of pressure on the company. The company was forced to sell its Hummer brand and now Saab. It was necessary for the car manufacturer to sell these brands to sustain. The company plans to concentrate on the on its primary brands.

Was great move for Saab  to be bought by Koenigsegg, for GM is one fallen car company for now because of its bancrupt nature. But it was a nice move indeed for GM to sell its cars in order to move up...
