Austin, Texas - The annual South by Southwest Interactive Festival end tomorrow. The five day event opened on Friday, March 13 and closes tomorrow on St. Patrick's Day.

The event was chock full of guest speakers, pannels, and interviews focused on emerging technologies and medias. Speakers included editor-in-cheif of Wired Magazine and father of "The Long Tail", Chris Anderson as well as hundreds of other new media entrepruers and experts. The full list of speakers and presentations cover seemingly every macro-, micro-, and sub- category related to technology and specifically Web 2.0. The event also included Screenburn at SXSW Interactive, a facet of the festival focused on the video gaming industry. SXSW Interactive was founded in 1994 along with the Film conferrence which runs through the 21st. In the 2007 Interactive festival Twitter was debuted and has now emerged as the preeminent micro-blogging site of Web 2.0.

The winners of the 12th annual SXSW Web Awards were announced yesterday during the festival. Categories included: activism, blog, business, art, music, mobile, people's choice, and best of show. Flickr and Hulu took home the awards for Classic and Film/TV, respectively.

South by Southwest Interactive 2009 concludes tomorrow with a party hosted by Media Temple.
