Ultra-cheap Tata Nano Launch

The world's cheapest car, the Tata Nano, was launched in India this week, coming in under $2,000 US. The five seater car will go on sale in India over the next 10 days and the makers hope it will encourage millions of Indians to trade up from their motorcycles.

A slightly bigger European version is expected to hit the market at around $8,000 US.

Costing just 100,000 rupees ($1,979; £1,366), the Nano is due to go on sale across India over the next 10 days.

Tata hopes the 10 feet (3 metre) long, five-seater car will be cheap enough to encourage millions of Indians to trade up from their motorcycles.

Tata owner Ratan Tata has described the launch as a "milestone". Analysts say it will take the firm up to six years to make a profit from the Nano.

It had a hugely positive impact on Tata Motors stock today. They were up by 8% since opening.

That will give the establishment some headaches.

Hmm...Having 65 miles/hour is good for an average guy like me. I like it's nickname "People’s Car" is just suitable for its price & look.
