Every year, billions of dollars in deductions and credits go unclaimed.  How do you know you are taking of advantage of everything available?

At this time of year, most Americans are too busy with the holidays to even think about taxes – but taking action before December 31st may boost their tax refund.  Since most tax saving moves must be made before the end of the year, now is the time to take advantage of all of the deductions and credits available. Here are a few tax tips to help your viewers maximize their tax refunds.

 

·      The 2009 Stimulus:  This is the last chance for taxpayers to take advantage deduction and credits available in the 2009 Stimulus Package including energy efficient deductions and credits, the HOPE credit and the New Car Sales Tax deduction. 

·      Donate to Charity:  Not only will this make people feel good – but, it may also get them a bigger refund at tax time. 

·      And More: Taxpayers can also prepay some of their 2010 bills in 2009, such as mortgage payments and large predictable medical expense or sell off losing investments.
