Mee and I went to Colindale yesterday and as usual, I needed to waitabout 2 hours while Mee got her face done. While waiting, I wouldnormally play my PSP games.

I had two games with me yesterday;Test Drive: Unlimited and Need for Speed: Prostreet. Well, where’sRidge Racer 2 then, you might ask? I had decided to stop playing it fora while and complete TDU from where I left. I stopped TDU at 56%somewhere last year because the joystick was not responsive at thattime. However, I got it sorted out at later dates by getting areplacement unit since it was still under warranty.

TDU isstill the best driving game for PSP at the moment. There are versionsof Need for Speed but none of it is any good. Prostreet is somehowbetter than its predecessor in terms of gameplay and control. But noneof the Need for Speed games offers free roam like its PC games. PSPProstreet is also easy to play and there are only Grip and Speed modeas compared to the PC version which has Grip, Time Attack, Speed,Drift, Drag and Sector Shootout. The graphic is disappointing.

TDUon the other hand plays and looks similar to the PC version exceptthere are no missions of giving people a lift to their destinations ordriving sports car for repair and other small details. However, theconcept is still the same which allows gamers to drive around theisland of Hawaii and look for challenges or buy properties.

Hmmm….I forgot to mention that I had upgraded my PSP firmware to 3.90 M33v2as Prostreet firmware requirement is 3.71 or 3.73 and above. Theupgrade was easy because the firmware I was using before upgrade was3.52 M33 Update 4. The upgrade definitely includes some additionalmusic options and Go!Messenger. I might try out the Go!Messenger atlater dates.

My firmware evolution. 2.81 > 1.50 > 3.03 OE-C > 3.52 M33 Update 4 > 3.90 M33v2
