Three Stars Media - New Name, Same Scheme?
A company named Internet Solutions Corporation, while still in operation, received significant attention on internet forums and among individual bloggers for what was suspected to be fake job ads. The Better Business Bureau received many complaints against ISC and its related companies. These complaints were rarely responded to by the company.
It was believed, as later also reported in the mainstream media, that these job listings were nothing more than phishing, a means to collect personal information to sell to advertisers. These allegations were never proven in court. Even if it was true, this practice is not necessarily illegal.
ISC and its owner Ayman El-Difrawi, with the assistance of attorneys Alex Finch and later Keith Kress, preceded to file lawsuits against several individuals, bloggers and forum administrators on charges such as conspiracy, defamation and unfair competition. Most of these were dismissed before going to court.
No lawsuits were filed against the Washington Post or WFTV who both reported on ISC as a scam. Difrawi, a person who has gone by many different names in the past, has previously been convicted of fraud.
Attorney Keith Kress is now involved with a new company named Three Stars Media. Kress asserts that his company has nothing to do with ISC, that there are no connections regarding ownership or contracts. He also states that Difrawi has nothing to do with the new company.
However, Three Stars Media recently started a non-profit organisation named The Scarlet Foundation whose stated goal is "to develop a web host code of conduct for protecting individuals from internet attacks". This organisation is registered as a non-profit in Florida under the name Ayman Difrawi.
Career Network appears to be a major part of TSMs business. Running hundreds of identical websites with the same job listings, they describe themselves as "one of the largest gateways to employment opportunities on the Internet". Many other companies are part of what they call a "complex system of hundreds of individually owned and operated job sites", among them Media Logic, Power Applications, Employment Select and Action Marketing.
Several complaints have been made against Career Network on various blogs and forums on the internet and also through the Better Business Bureau. None of the complaints listed have received a response from the company.
