I took the top off to unstuck the parallax frame. Also did a little cleaning.
This is my 2nd rangefinder. Not sure exactly why I bought this. I guess I just wanted to.
Compared to the Yashica 5000e. The Canon QL17 is a bit lighter and more compact. However the rangefinder is not as bright.
This is not the more common G-III version. But other than the battery test light, I don't think there's any difference in terms of functionality. The G-III's are made in Taiwan, mine is made in Japan. The G-III's are usually more expensive though for some reason...
Rather than paying $7 for a special battery, I'm just using a commonly available 1.5v LR44 battery and fill the space with a washer. Exposure meter seems to work unexpectedly well. I don't even have to compensate for the difference in voltage. I had to do that with the 5000e.
