Toyota is recalling 1.53 million vehicles, including cars from the Lexus brand, worldwide due to faulty brake cylinders and fuel pumps. Braking power can slowly decline as fluid leaks from the master brake cylinder. Toyota vehicles outside North America have defective fuel pumps that could cause engine stalls. So far, no accidents have been attributed to either defect.

Vehicles Affected by Latest Toyota Recall:

  • 2005-2006 Toyota Avalon
  • 2004-2006 Toyota Highlander
  • 2004-2006 Lexus RX 330
  •  2006 Lexus GS300,
  • 2006 Lexus IS 250
  • 2006 Lexus IS350

If you own one of the recalled vehicles, contact your dealer for repair information.

The automaker has been working to overhaul its quality controls and respond more quickly to consumer complaints since the recalls began.

The company recently announced that it had completed repairs on more than five million vehicles for three major recalls announced in late 2009 and early 2010 in the U.S. involving unintended acceleration and braking issues.
