The internet is a great thing and with it we can do a lot of things but at times there are problems and things just don't work right. People like me who are not high tech have trouble even knowing what is causing the problems. I am in such a situation now.

I have been on NP for two years and mostly with no big access problems. I was using Firefox as a browser. Recently l was offline for a few weeks and got a new computer. It came with an upgraded version of FF. Now with FF l cannot use the highlight tool, even the code will not work On another site with FF l can't comment or see images. On the rest of the internet FF works fine.

I tried downloading the earlier version of FF but it will not load. I do not know if there is a problem with my computer, a virus, or if the problem is with FF.  This has been going n for two weeks. Yesterday l found a browser called flock which will work with the highlight tool about half the time. FF still will not use highlight.

This shows computers are not perfect and users certainly are not.  I have not fixed the the problem but did find a way around it.

Have either of you talked to one of the editors? They can probably fix the issue for you...

I have talked to two of them.  I wrote this to send to them to show what problems l am having.

Highlight is now available for Firefox 3.6.

I'm not sure what you mean by "the code won't work": blockquote code is browser-agnostic, which means that it doesn't matter which version of which browser you're using- typing in the "[q]' commands will work on any NowPublic story page; you don't even need to push the scary HTML button!
