Wall Street's Trinity Church in New York will be celebrating Easter on the web today: by twittering the Passion of the Christ.

In bursts of 140 characters, church goers can follow the tale of Jesus' life and death on the cross through Twitter. The main characters in the play started tweeting the action at noon today, and anyone can follow along.

The lower Manhattan Episcopal parish also is offering a Web version of the Stations of the Cross.

The church was founded by a small group of Anglicans in 1697.

Great info post Amy, thanks for this, I guess as long as people reach out and are heard it doesn't really matter how it's done, by Twitter or otherwise; was telephoning and tele-conferencing people on Easter day perceived as hi-tech back in the day when that service was first introduced (?) I wonder..

Great catch, Amy, I saw this story earlier about Trinity on TV.  I've included the tweet page from Trinity below.

The 18-part tweet script, adapted from the Gospel of Mark in the New Testament, will be told through eyes of six characters in the play including Jesus, Mary Magdalene, Peter and the Serving Girl, according to Ms. Linda Hanick, Trinity's vice president of communication and marketing.

Trinity finally has its organ functional again in time for Easter.

Thank you, Amy.  Twitter is a great website offering members a large aray of services. As a matter of fact, that is where I got the excellent video for this article, the strongest statement against euthanasia I ever saw:

Romans 6:4
Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
