This is a pathetic to scare people into socializing capital losses. The big three should have provided real value to the American people and perhaps they would have not lost their market share to the Japanese. The big three has lobbied hard to establish a automotive addition for 80 years. The cost of automotive ownership is second only to home ownership.

Your comment that the video is a pathetic to scare people? You, obviously are not very intelligent! It was the automotive industry that made this nation what it is today. It was the ability of the automotive industry to change over that gave us the ability to win world war two. So let's just say they saved your sorry pathetic ass! You need to go back to school and learn a little about history and the importance of a manufacturing sector with respect to a country's national security. Statistically 50% of all people graduate in the lower half of their class. Obviously, you were at the bottom of the barrel!

Get real. How long will you fat cat union types keep this up. Congress should have asked "Why can foreign manufactuers make vehicles in the U.S. with American workers and the big three can't? - Bad mgmt, bad products, bad bloated union contracts.

Dear Readers,
I am in the mortgage industry in Michigan and we are seeing very troubled times in our economy. Over half my clients work for one of the big three. I am beeing affected already by this and the housing and big three crisis. My clients that work for the big three are mostly unfinancable at this point losing there jobs or are worried about job security. If this has affected me already to not give the three a bail out would be a complete disaster for many people in our country. We must give them what they need not only 25 Billion but what ever they need to stay a float. To let a company like GM, Ford, or Chrysler go Bankrupt would not only be an imbaressment to our country like President Elect Obama said the big three are the Backbone of our country. So how could this be a front advertisement on behalf of GM. I think GM'S survival is key to our economy and success. We need to focus on the future we are in a bad situation in this country and need to all sacriface a little bit to get our country out of this bad economy. It is important for us to act now and stop waiting.

Ask yourself "who benefited the most from Detroit building gas hogs for the last 25 years?" The oil companies thats who. While Detroit goes in the tank ExxonMobile post the largest profits in history of any company anywhere! 2006 $39.5B in net profit, 2007 $40.6B and this year could easily top $50B. Why don't the oil companies come to their rescue?
Say that number with me "$50Billion". Thats cash in the bank, not top line revenue...cold hard cash. This seems so simple to me. I can't think of a good reason why the oil companies wouldn't put together a bridge loan package to help them out, unless they know something we don't. Like maybe they don't think its a good investment? Why would they think that?
Hard working Americans already padded the oil companies wallets and we don't have much left to give. So how about you oil companies stepup to the plate and save your buddies so hard working Americans can continue to feed their families.
