UPS Jobs: Hiring Begins This Month
UPS is ramping up for the holiday shipping season, adding 50,000 temporary jobs. Most of the UPS hiring will take place in November and December, but some positions are being filled as early as October.
UPS hired 50,000 temporary staffers in 2009, though this year's economic outlook isn't positive compared to last year. The temporary positions will include package sorters and drivers' assistants-- jobs that keep the delivery network going while it's under that once-a-year heavy stress.
Overall, though, the hiring outlook for October is grim, as job growth has stopped: 39,000 full-time positions have been cut in September alone, according to ADP.
Norman Black, a UPS spokesman, said the company isn't making an economic forecast, although he noted in an e-mail exchange Wednesday that "most of the U.S. retail sales projections by others that we're seeing are pretty flat compared to last year."

These jobs should be given first to out of work census workers. I myself worked this job through college for $8.00 an hour. This job will make a man out of you. I think all government workers should work half as hard as a guy loading packages in a trailer for 5 hours in cold weather for $8.00 an hour. Get some!!
