USA Movie Quarterly Scam
There is a company called USA Movie Quarterly. They are out of Davenport, Iowa. They call businesses and say the produce movie guide for local theaters and want to place an ad in their magazine for your business- THIS IS A SCAM! They ask you to pay upfront for your advertising and then they never print a movie guide and they dont return your money.
They told me they would have guides in my local theater- the Highland in St. Paul, MN on January 1st that would run through March. There was never a guide delivered to the theater, no copy ever sent to me as they said I would get, and the theater says they have never heard of them.
Their website address that they gave me www.usamoviequarterly.com- doesnt exsist anymore but they do have a new one www.usamoviequarterly.net- on there they show a movie guide for Indiana but the alot of businesses are in Minnesota.
They refuse to give me back my money and say they will eventually get something printed.I talked to a woman named Nancy who was completely rude to me.
Dont waste your money with this company as I did- They are a scam.

I was ripped-off by them too! They never published the magazine and their staff was completely rude.
I called the theater to ask about the magazine and they had no idea what I was talking about
USA Movie Quarterly is a scam!

I almost advertised with them then they told me i had to pay more to get a bugger ad because they couldnt do a smaller ad for us- what a crock- so glad i didnt go ahead with it

I too advertised with this company. They calmly explained to me that they had an employee who stole much of their documents and ads and had to recreate them. They also guaranteed that I would get my full 3 months of advertising even if they had to include me in the next publishing of the magazine. To call them a scam is rather libelous and mean spirited. If you are a professional you would not be throwing this word around. I suggest you call them again and discuss this matter like a real man! Hopefully you have never gone through something like what they are going through. If you have I hope you had the opportunity to rectify the problem without some loud mouth jumping the gun. This is the problem with new business start ups, they run into people who are not professional. Good luck!

Naven-
I did call them and was treated rather rudely. Calling them a scam is exactly what they are.
A reputable and ethical company would have explained any problems to me, before I had to call them, and would have given me the option to continue with the advertising ( If I wanted to wait) or refunded my money (if I chose not to wait).
I too was once a start up business and of course I ran into a few problems but never did I make that the problem of my customers.

I know nothing about this business, I just happened along this story- but wow- Naven- get a grip. You seem entirely too heated about not feeling ripped off. someone feels they have been ripped off and you insult them in such a way- and then have enough never to call THEM unprofessional? Something seems a bit off with that. Telling them to call and discuss it like a real man when they already stated that they called and were treated rudely- did you read the article at all? Maybe it is just me but you seem a bit to close to this story to be just an advertiser, and if you are then you need to get a grip on your emotions and read what people are saying before you freak out.

Let me introduce myself< my name is Doug Cunningham> I am the Director of Operations @ USA Movie Quarterly. I don't know who "tiredofthebull' is but in talking to Nancy, the art dept., and customer service I have a pretty good idea. Maven N. is right. Our business was sabatoged by a former associate and our records were not able to be recovered. We started over from scratch, rebuilt the magazine template, and all the ads. As a result, five of our publications were late. I can assure you that they have been shipped along with a letter to every client about extending their ad free of charge in the next issue. I am very transperent, as a result you can reach me at anytime at 1-888 MOVIE61 to verify your free ad in the next publication.
As for the ads on the website, the art department placed what they considered to be the sharpest looking ads on our sample, do you blame them?

I am a former employee of Doug Cunningham- and yes they do scam people. The "director of operations"- lol tells the sales people to say they are with the theaters and they are not. The whole place is a JOKE. From what I hear, the former employee they say sabbotaged them worked for them for 6 months and never got paid a dime and now is suing them- but thats just what I hear.
Here is a tip from someone with insider knowledge of the business- do not do buy advertising over the phone with a company you have never heard of. If you don't know the company and have never seen there product, there is probably a good reason.

Big D Man as you know you are the reason these problem exist. You can't hide your guilt, you should be ashamed of yourself. The fact is you are the one being sued, you are the one who took ads and legal documents from the office causing all of this. There is a god and you will answer to these crimes. You are the reason I had to wait till this week for my ad to come out. Listen little Missy you deserve everthing that is coming to you, and according to USAMQ you are currently being watched for just the actions you are committing now. Remember GOD doesn't like ugly, and the path you are taking will lead you and your family to HELL!!

First of all I am not a "Little Missy" nor am I being sued by anyone nor did I ever steal anything from anybody- but it is a shame what USAMQ did to that girl after she designed everything for them and they refused to pay her a dime- yeah you are a great company that doesnt even pay the people who work for you- got an other funny ones? And yes I say you because NAVEN is obviously the owner of USAMQ, the girlfriend of the married Director of operations, yes you are going straight to hell - You own a company that doesnt pay it's employees, that doesn't deliver to its customers, and you have sex with a married man. You said it yourself GOD doesnt like ugly and you are definetly an ugly soul

Well little Missy, or little Mister I am not the owner of this business. Nor did I know about the owner's private life, but you seem to know more than you should for an ex-employee. If you are not the girl you have nothing to worry about. If you are shame on you. Whoever you are you obviously can't keep a job. Look, I do not care about either of your home lives. Only to the extent that you are harming my advertising dollar. Get a job, you are singing a song of sour grapes. In the end this will not accomplish anything other than you feeling angry and abused. You know the feeling. I am sorry if I hurt your feelings, lets bury the hatchet and agree to disagree.

It might be best to let sleeping dogs lie!

I just wanted people to be aware of the operations of this company and how I was treated. Somehow this has turned into a session of airing dirty laundry and bickering back and forth among people who seem very connected to this company. With all of this chaos that has erupted from this post I wonder how any of you consider yourselves professional. The whole thing started with me not getting my advertisement and thats all it should have ever been. No one should have ever been on here calling people names nor should anyone be telling about others personal lives. This is about how business is conducted nothing more- so if anyone has any real comments or advice, please let me know. Thank you.

I work for a theater that operates out of Indiana and we did recently receive an issue of the USA Movie Quarterly to distribute to our patrons but decided against it since all of the ads within were for Minnesota. I have no idea why they would send us a magazine for another state but I know my boss was extremely unhappy when it arrived.
