Verizon is pushing hard in its Droid ad campaign, and is following up on its "iDon't" ad with a new holiday-themed piece, this time placing the iPhone on the Island of Misfit Toys. As rumors circulate of an upcoming iPhone price drop even as the Droid launches, Verizon is now singling out AT&T's sparse 3G network for some business-to-business dis action. Verizon is clearly not waiting until Thanksgiving to ramp up its holiday marketing campaign.

Unfortunately, all AT&T has to do to counter these ads is keep offering the iPhone, which continues to snap up smartphone market share.

The Island of Misfit Toys, by the way, is where a toy goes when little children just don't like it very much. It's quite sad, ad was featured in that stop-motion Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer Christmas special, as well as in a dodgy sequel.
