Wal-Mart's Turnersville, NJ Store #1742 is participating in Jersey Fresh programs to feature locally grown produce in its New Jersey stores. Commemorating the start of peach growing season, New Jersey's newly crowned Peach Queen, Alexis Scaffidi of Glassboro, visited the Turnersville store to help kick off New Jersey peach sales. slubetkin, I like this story. It's good stuff.
Good for Walmart. It is specifically because of Walmart that we pay less in all retail stores in the states. They have a goal to serve the customer the best way they can both in price and service plus make a descent profit for the stockholders.

Though not a fan of big-box stores in general, I think it's brilliant to be able to walk into a big store and buy produce that's not from 1000 miles away.
