Mojave Spaceport, Mojave Ca. Sir Richard Branson will Un-veil SST- Space Ship Two today. A private venture with: Sir Richard Branson Virgin Atlantic and Scaled Composites of Mojave California. The SST will be carried by White Knight Two “Eve” named after Sir Richard Branson’s mom to approx 60,000 feet then the SST Hybrid rocket engine fires up to 3000mph carrying the six space tourists to a height of 360,000 feet or 68 miles and get to experience about 6 minutes weightlessness . At apogee the Tourists get to unbuckle themselves and fly around the cabin. At a cost of $200,000.00 you too can become an astronaut. Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger plans on being at the event. With Three hundred sold seats to date and 40 million in the bank the testing of SST is going along as scheduled for safety and engine checks.

Up Date : 2/08/09 Went out to watch the event but it was about 20 degrees with 50mph winds with snow flurries- missed the caravans out to the site. Despite the cold they celebrated late into the evening with The California and New Mexico Governors and spaceship designer Burt Rutan Christened the new craft " Virgin Spaceship Enterprise" in honor of other famous craft. Testing resumes today.
