We need more flamboyance on the roads

It's dull and grey when it's raining. And it's England, so it's raining rather a lot. But why not to make ourselves a better day. Maybe a nice cake or good film. Or, a flamboyant car on the drive.

Grey is boring colour as black and blue. And you know what – that's three the most popular colours amongst car owners. Yes, there is also red and white, but red is more for women and white is more for people who prefer washing their cars every month. Well, as it's England, that's not a problem.

But we got stuck. The dullness on the roads can kill someone one day. It's boring on motorways as it's simply boring over there. Unless you get bored so much that start overtaking everyone, including Jag. And undertaking, let's not forget that. And life in the city isn't any better. The same grey and black, let's not forget the black. And white with red.

Yes, there are mad people, I mean women, driving pink cars. That's something that can give you a headache more likely. There's also people driving bright green and orange Fords. And I rather like them. At least you get to wish for a fresh breath of air and a big cake after your dinner.

That's what should be seen on the roads – not maniac drivers but mad cars. Let it be bright pink, I won't care. We want more bright blue, screaming white and shouting red. Yes, we want that.

But we won't get any of it. And one of the reasons is that non of those colours come out of the factory often. Once or twice, with a special occasion. And special price tag.

But all this brings me to another thing – concept cars. In recent years there was a lot to look at. And I mean – only to look at.

Supercar makers are teasing us with concepts. Radical, striking and laughable – usually they are Italians. So, can we forgive them? I would say – bring it on.

Just days ago Lamborghini showed us the Navarra concept. I haven't liked it really a lot but with some tweaks and machine guns it will do. Lambo is all about power and flamboyance. And when you see one you want one. Admit it. At least to yourself. And one of those concepts will see the daylight as there will have to be something for the Murcielago replacement.

And it's not only Lambo teasing us. Just days ago the Ferrari 612 GTO pictures appeared on the web. And, to say the true, it will stay only as a picture most likely. But I will ignore this for the time.

But don't get dissapointed if you're not a fan of supercars. Citroen revealed quiet a few concepts. Well, Survolt and Metropolis were the ones to pick. And hope something like that will see the daylight.

But while there are concepts, we need real thing. And the same Citroen got something interesting already to offer. The DS3 is a stunning creation. And it makes my day when I see one.

But there's not a lot of those on the roads. And you know why – not a lot who wish to own a French car.

But going further East we'll discover something what would seem rather boring usually. Kia – not the name you would look at if you want something striking and exclusive. But not till now. Check the latest Soul – it's a small stunning car. Either in white or red – sometimes I start thinking what for people need Range Rover.

But despite the fact that we can afford to buy bright green Focus or pink Fiat not a lot will do that. And even less will look at supercars. We will drown into black and grey see even more.

Despite the fact my work car is black and neighbours Jag is red I will look for something striking when it will come to owning a car. I will not go for French cars only because I don't like them and won't look at the Ferrari despite the fact Italians got passion for motoring. I will look forward to a striking white Golf or a beautifully black Aston Martin. And despite the matter of time, will get an old Ford Mustang one day.

And all this only because of one reason – I love cars. The way they look and drive. The joyful feeling you get when driving one. And the smiles you can put on other people faces when driving something stunning.
