You may disagree with what I am about to say but I hate diesel cars. Yes, maybe they are more economical, and, actually, yes, they are but I can't stand them. And that's despite the fact my dad owns even two of these. But as he is more than 2000km up north from where I am now it doesn't really matter. But when going through papers this morning I saw something that made me rather cross – diesel sales overtook petrol. And when I went on with the article that was described as a solution to high fuel prices.

Nonsense. You can disagree with this as well.

Yes, everyone is slowly pulling out of recession as well as BP stopped gushing oil somewhere across the pond. Think it was the Gulf of Mexico.

So, according to all human logic, we all should become a bit richer. But we never will. Because we live on planet, called Earth.

So, as we are called human, we tend to do stupid things. Like buy diesel cars.

According to Society of Motoring Manufactures and Traders (SMMT) survey diesel car sales in Britain have overtook petrol ones for the first time.

It wouldn't be so hard to do the maths but as it's twenty first century even a piece can't be divided into two that simple. Don't forget that there are hybrids as well.

So, while petrol sales plunged by 13.2 percent and when diesel sales increased by 11.8, hybrids took 1.4 percent of the market.

Maybe that doesn't seem a lot to you but it actually is a bit. And you know why I think so? Yes, you can disagree with me again on this one – there aren't really good hybrid cars on the market if to be honest.

Yes, there is the Prius from Toyota as well as some other stupid things. And if to be honest – can't be bothered to be interested in all that more than am now. Because there's nothing to be interested in.

So back to diesels as it's the thing that made me angry. Government is knocking on with taxes and that we shouldn't be driving at all. But when Mary lives in Bath and goes to work in London driving would make a bit of sense. Yes, she could take the train and make her journey easier but in case she decided to stay in office for longer she'd be struggling to go back home.

So, Mary got the car and is a responsible owner. She pays taxes, more taxes on the ones that she paid already, bit more on these ones and spends some more money on insurance.

There's not a lot left for her. But let's not forget that she is driving from her home in Bath to London which is a bit of a trip. So she has to stop at the pump rather often.

Maybe she's driving Prius which would probably make a bit more sense but lets say she's a fan of hot hatches. Let's say she's got Ford Focus. And let if be the 'Asbo' version.

So to sum up all this – she need to spend even more money on petrol.

And, talking in English – she has got nothing left. And that's not because she loves her petrol 'Asbo'. That's because our government is stupid enough to charge you for the air you breath.
