Game Day is 7-11's Own Brand of Beer Going to Be on Sale in US 7-11s Soon

Not content with just selling their own brand of wine, Yosemite Road private-label, 7-11 has now branched out in to the world of creating and selling their own beer, with the introduction of their own label called Game Day.

7-Eleven is the third largest retailer of beer in the United States according to MSNBC, and they want to jump on the bandwagon of people stopping to get their snacks, sandwiches and Slurpees all in the same place that they can now get their beer.

The beer will become available in April at US stores and the retailer is hoping it will be a huge success.

Al Everett, told MSNBC that he is unsure about this new business venture:

"If I was tailgating before a game, I'd certainly consider it," he said. "It's probably not something that I would have regularly." Still, he was curious. "I'll certainly keep an eye out for it."

People will be able to choose from Game Day Light with 3.9 percent alcohol, and Game Day Ice with 5.5 percent alcohol. The light version has 110 calories and Ice has 155 calories. It will retail for about $6.99 to $8.99 for a 12-pack and 24-ounce singles will be available for $1.49 and $1.89.

City Brewery in La Crosse, Wisconsin will brew the beer.

Dan Skinner, the category manager for alcoholic beverages for 7-Eleven said:

"We can give premium beers a run for their money," said Skinner, adding that Game Day performed well in taste tests, including among suppliers of premium beers.
