If you haven't heard of Nyan Cat yet, then I apologize in advance. Nyan Cat (also known as Pop Tart Cat) is a cat with a Pop-Tart body that smiles as he flies through space and leaves a rainbow trail. No, really.

Nyan Cat was created by a user called PRGuitarMan on LOL-Comics: original Nyan Cat (annoying music alert). The song is called Nyanyanyanyanyanyanya, in case you hadn't already guessed.

The same guy posted a silent version of Pop Tart Cat on his Tumblr blog.

This spacebound cat has captured the web's imagination, and Nyan Cat reimaginings and remixes abound; even a single-purpose Tumblr site or two.
