What's to love about LinkedIn?

Hence the big news at LinkedIn, the online social network aimed at working professionals: On Wednesday LinkedIn announced that it nabbed $53 million in venture funding from the likes of Bain Capital, Greylock Partners and Sequoia Capital, setting the company's valuation at a juicy $1 billion.

If you aren't using online social networks in one form or another, you are well behind the productivity curve. Yes, plenty of teenagers and bored cubicle warriors poke about Facebook and News Corp.'s MySpace (taken together, the two sites have more than 316 million users; Facebook with 80 million, MySpace with 236 million). But business types are, and should be, embracing this technology too.

Thanks Rhonda, as for me, this technology is just another way for spam and viruses and information no one asked for to hit your computer. I don't want to join a friend's list or other crap.

I have a Linkedin account that I almost never check... I guess I'm not that valuable of a contact.

The only thing I know of a Linkin is the Guy on Mod Squad. Guess I am not with the times either,

I don't know anyone who uses most of the features (like ask and answer). Most people use it as an electronic rolodex. It's useful for that (and so as a sales tool) but not nearly as useful as alot of other social software tools (including Facebook in my opinion).
