Whispering Pines Elementary School

Cutler Bay resident Laura sent us an email trying to get the word spread about the Whispering Pines Chambers Singers and Band about to lose their music lab.

She sent us this link to the NBC6 Video. http://video.nbc6.net/player/?id=214824

Whispering Pines Elementary School in Cutler Bay is recognized around the country for its award-winning music laboratory.

However, the gifted students at the school will soon loose their pianos. The company that donated the 15 digital pianos is going out of business and wants them back.

The cost of replacing these pianos is anywhere between $80,000 and $100,000 and parents are selling pizzas to raise money

The mostly 10- and 11-year-olds at Whispering Pines are taught by Ron Simon. Simon has been teaching at the school for 33 years.
