The launch of Windows 7 is getting mixed reviews so far, but the strangest thing it may have inspired is the Whopper Burger with seven, yes 7, patties from Burger King, released only in Japan.

The burger contains almost two pounds of meat and consists of over 2,120 calories. The burger will be available until the 28th of October and the first 30 will be sold at about $3.00 US with the price rising to about $5.00 US after that.

As advertising strategies go, it is unusual to say the least. The burger tips the calorimeter at over 1,000 kilocalories – more than half the recommended daily intake for a woman.

Many are wondering why Burger King is doing this for a computer software release, and why Windows would want to associate itself with a burger that could leave to obesity and heart failure.

Just to compare, a McDonald's Big Mac has 570 calories and a McDonald's hamburger has 270 calories.

Jack in the Box's Big Texas Cheeseburger has 610 calories, and a Hamburger with Cheese has 350 calories.

A White Castle Double Cheeseburger has 285 calories, and a White Castle Double Hamburger has 235 calories.

Who would want to eat that much meat in a burger.  Yeah why is Burgerking doing this?

well if Windows 7 don't kill you the Microsoft Japan promotional Burgerking (¥777/$8) certainly will!
