MC Hammer Promises 'Deep Search'

MC Hammer unveiled WIREDoo, his new search engine, at the 2011 Web 2.0 Summit in San Francisco. Yes, MC Hammer has a search engine.

You can sign up for WIREDoo's private beta (clunky capitalization and all) to take it for a test drive. We'll see how relationship search differs from other implementations of deep search, such as the creepy pipl.com.

MC Hammer's search engine does not purport to reinvent search, but to make sense of related datasets. This was part of the idea behind Bing: predicting what a user is looking for, and presenting results accordingly, in a usable layout. Bing didn't exactly yank users out of Google's playpen, but its user base will grow as all those old IE6-running machines die, and are replaced with IE8 and IE9, which default to Bing.

MC Hammer, on the other hand, will start with neither the advantage of being synonymous with search nor the advantage of providing the default search engine for a given browser. He is, however,  too legit to quit.
