World's Longest-Married Couple Share Secret on Twitter for Feb 14
Herbert and Zelmyra Fisher were married in 1924, that's 85 years, but that's not stopping them from getting all tech savvy. One year shy of claiming the title of the World's longest-married couple, the Fishers will take to Twitter to answer questions submitted via the social networking site on February 14, Valentine's Day.
Hailing from North Carolina, the Fishers are coming up on their 86th wedding anniversary in May of this year. Already listed in the Guinness Book of World Records for being the living couple with the longest marriage, they are just one year shy of beating out the late Philipose and Sosamma Thomas of India who were hitched for 86 years and 128 days.
Iris Godette, the couple's grand-daughter, said they long-standing love birds wanted to share their knowledge with the younger generation and what better way to do so than turning to Twitter?
The chat event is being organized by Blinkbox.com, a movie streaming website, and will take place live on Valentine's day. To send in a question tweet your inquiry to the Twitter account @longestmarried.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Fisher: We want to congratulate you, first off. What amazed us most, was the fact you attributed this achievement to God, first and foremost. We have both been married before, each having the desire to stay married for life. Not believing in divorce, we were pushed into it by social consequences. We are actually newlyweds, since September 2009. We had both given up on finding a new partner in life, but God was not through with us. We met at Wal-Mart and were married within 18 months. God was not through with us. And we are both approximatley 50 years old. We may not be married as long as you have, but we know what it takes to stay together, forever. Together we are on a crusade to start a mission for Christ. It is called the "Jesus Crusade Mission". We want to inspire all people to become Followers of Jesus Christ. We believe all things are possible through God. We believe three words come to mind: "Thank You, God!" May you have many more years of enjoying each other. Thanks be to God. God Bless you all, Michael and Kay Chaffee
