The requirement for occupying the learned position of a Paralegal is a proper legal education obtained from an institution that operates the American Bar Association approved curriculum for Paralegal studies. It could be in a traditional college or even an online paralegal training institution, your degree and competence should be consonant with working without supervision in the legal department of a government agency, in a law firm or any other office of human endeavor where your services are required..
Now note that not all the colleges and institutions online and offline who are offering paralegal training are good for your legal education; get your legal education from an institution or college approved by the American Bar Association, so that at the end of your training you will be eminently qualified to handle diverse legal duties in a law firm, in the judiciary, in the legal department of a bank, in the legal department of a government agency, an NGO or anywhere else where your services may be required.
In conclusion, you should be careful when selecting your preferred Paralegal institution online or offline, because a lot of them are not really recognized by the American Bar Association on whose ambit falls the regulation of the teaching of Paralegal studies in the States - Google "Standing Committee on Paralegals Directory" for a list of approved schools and make your choice according to your means, their tuition fees are not uniform.
