YouTube XL: Coming to a TV Near You

Just in case we hadn't already gotten enough of Star Wars Kid, Evolution of Dance, lonelygirl15, Susan Boyle, Keyboard Cat, or anything else on the great Tube of You--now we have the dubious opportunity of watching all manner of Internet rants, antics, memes and outrageous stunts in supersize.

That's right--it's YouTube XL, optimized for that old relic in your living room, and it'll provide up to 10x more fun and obnoxiousness for the whole family.

First, the interface: everything is bigger and is of variable width. The menu is on the left hand side, with options for watching videos, searching for videos, and controlling specific settings. Once you have selected a video, you can watch it, expand it full screen (it looks great fully expanded on a big screen), and browse through related video playlists or create your own. YouTube XL also supports HD video...

One growing pain YouTube had to go through was the dropping of comments and other "community features", but really, is that such a bad thing? Think of it as a bonus: you get to turn the screensize up, while turning the stupid down.

Gotta say - it looks pretty slick.
