Zagat Airline Survey Results, Air Travel Down by 33%
The Zagat Ariline Survey shows that airline travel is down, way down, by 33%
The Zagat survey of more than 5,000 frequent fliers, who collectively took 97,600 flights last year, says that 33% of respondents were flying less than they did before. In 2007, the Zagat survey reported that the average frequent flier was taking 19.7 flights per year. This year that number dropped to 16.6 flights.
As for the airline most favoured by the Zagat respondents, Virgin America came out on top for air travelers in the USA. The relatively new airline scored high in satisfaction ratings crushing the veteran American, Delta, United and US air, for overall customer satisfaction.
For international travel, Singapore edged out Cathay Pacific Airways.
And while on the ground the best Airport in the USA turns out to be Portland International while New York's La Guardia Airport sits dead last amonong Zagat respondents.
