Defense Ministry conducts successful testing of bullet-proof vests

In testing the 4th level vests, an SS-V1 rifle is used with 4TJ bullets, and M16 rifle with 5TJ bullets, from a distance of 25 meters, and 5th level vests from a distance of 6 meters.

In testing the 3rd A level bullet-proof vests, an FN handgun is used from a distance of 5 meters, and 4th level vests from a distance of 6 meters.

The testing was also conducted on west vests, using 5.56 mm, these vests are also resistant to stabs and chops.

"The successful tests will reduce the Indonesian military`s dependence on imported bullet-proof vests," the Defense Ministry training and development head Prof Lilik Hendrajaya said.
