Verizon Wireless, Google in discussions to form mobile phone partnership: WSJ

Verizon (NYSE:VZ) Wireless (NYSE:VOD) and Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) are in 'serious discussions' over a possible partnership to carry mobile phones tailored to a new Google operating system, the Wall Street Journal reported on its Web site late Tuesday, citing a person familiar with the situation.

The Mountain View, Calif.-based Internet giant is expected to make an announcement within two weeks about new software and services that can be used to build customized Google-powered phones, the Journal reported.

A technology partnership with Google might allow carriers to offer cheaper phones, since Google's licensing fees would likely be lower than others in the industry, the report said, citing the source.

GoogleRizon seems to be the relevant word combination for the names of the two companies cited in the WSJ report.  It has a nice play on words, in light of the fact that only a few days ago Google's stock price was near the $600 range and today, it is valued closed to $700/share.
