Indonesia sets 2012 as target for production of police weapons

"This is part of a coooperation between the police and the Research and Technology Ministry as well as other agencies under the the ministry`s coordination since 2005 with a target to produce weapons," Deputy Minister for Research and Technology Development Dr Bambang Sapto Pratomosuno said during a workshop on a map of planned development of weapons supporting police work, here on Thursday.

The cooperation covered production of weapons, special vehicles, anti-drug handling equipment, forensic equipment as well as the development of remote sensing, information and communication system.
