Simon Fraser University Surrey Campus was located inside the Surrey Central Mall. Clothing stores, food court, department stores, for some student it was a paradise, where as after a very tired class, a walk around the mall would bring the spirit back to exhausted shell. It is convenient, it is fun, and it is heaven. However that point only approves to one portion of the community, somehow it is untrue to some individual that thinks this kind of design was a distraction from the true purpose of being in a school.

This design was meant to create a lot of free spirit and relaxation to student who was exhausted from studies. The environment of this campus had given a more leisure atmosphere to the students. However, from some students’ mind it could contain a negative influence. “The first thing I see each time I walk into the school was the liquid store!” said by one SFU student. This kind of design that included a built-in mall for a University Campus not only brought convenience and entertainment into the community but also some temptation towards the goal of study. “It sure is convenient and everything, cause there was a mall in our school, but the point is not influence by its negative effect when spending time at school.” said by another SFU student.
