PCs being pushed aside in Japan

The PC's role in Japanese homes is diminishing, as its once-awesome monopoly on processing power is encroached by gadgets such as smart phones that act like pocket-size computers, advanced Internet-connected game consoles, and digital video recorders with terabytes of memory.


I thought that mixing up memory and disk is now gone, but apparently, it's still prevalent. Aside from this irritating little glitch, the article is rather interesting. For geeks like me, the PC is not going anywhere soon (but, many of us use laptops, now). But clearly the consumer has more choices.
