Ever heard the one about CRS (can't remember sh*t) that circulates around folks who are turning 40, 50, 60, etc? CRS becomes a "syndrome" for the Boomers who age gracefully crowd. Now those same folks who previously shunned SMS text messaging, are beginning to see SMS in a new light. How helpful it can be....

"Think of a pharmaceutical company with a product that's supposed to be taken once a month," said Liuzzo. "Users could create an account on the company's Web site and register for an SMS reminder."

As one's hearing begins to fail, SMS is a good substitute--you don't have to listen, you can read, provided your phone screen is back-lit.

Seeing my kids texting, and realizing that I could get them to answer me via SMS where they would screen my voice calls brought about my conversion to SMS. Google's built-in IM made it a habit.
