Vintage Computer Festival: How Far We've Come
As I looked for an article with which to test a Highlight fix, I came across this little story about a vintage computer festival. Jeez, I remember the first time I met (and was flummoxed by) a Commodore Pet. Oh, how challenging it was to get it to play Tank Command. Oh, the quagmire of the command line!
The ConBrio 200R, one of four that exist in the world. Invented by Cal Tech students in 1980 to write orchestral music, the ConBrio is a computerized synthesizer that has never been used to record music.Brian Kehew, a Los Angeles music producer and sometime keyboard player for The Who, aims to learn how to use it, teach others, and record an album of music with the device. At the time it was invented, the ConBrio was "much more advanced" than regular keyboards of its day, Kehew said.
(The command line and I are still only barely on speaking terms, by the way. Usually due to a loose connection between the seat and the keyboard)

Ah the old commodore 64. That and my atari were the best gaming systems at the time...
My how things change.
Though I've got to say, my atari never overheated and had to be sent back.
