Two Crestview teenagers who tried to run out on their Waffle House
bill were chased down by the restaurant’s cook, according to an
Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office report.
The young men ate at a Destin Waffle House on May 31 and then left
without paying the $18.40 bill. After the cook chased them, the teens
struck the cook and another vehicle before fleeing the scene.
When deputies caught up with the vehicle, a female juvenile who was
in the car the entire time said they “fled the area because the cook
was chasing them and making threatening suggestions.”
The report did not indicate whether anyone was injured or if the
other vehicle was damaged. The teens were charged with fraud for
nonpayment of their bill.
