No surprises from BOJ's Governor Fukui's words
today when he said that the BOJ "will support sustainable growth under
price stability by conducting appropriate monetary policy while
carefully checking economic and price conditions." He said the economy
is expanding gradually and expects it to achieve "long-lasting
expansion. He also expects core CPI to remain on a positive trend.
USD/JPY bounced off 118.30 yesterday ("next support around 118.30") to
a high of 119.15 on US CPI data, before going back below 119.00 at the
time of writing at 0130 GMT. As said yesterday, the pair could well be
