The problems hospitals face treating uninsured patients were the focus of efforts of the Texas Hospital Association in Austin recently. President and CEO of the association, Dr. Dan Stultz, presented an overview of the 80th Texas Legislature and its impact on Texas health care to about 50 West Texas area hospital administrators and board directors yesterday.  He said several bills in Austin did not make it into law, which was disappointing.  In addition to focusing on legislative actions related to the uninsured and Medicaid reform, Stultz talked about his organizations efforts to address the state’s nursing shortage and improve health care transparency.
