THC (marijuana) helps cure cancer says Harvard study

Believe it or not, a Harvard study released on April 17, 2007 shows that the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, cuts tumor growth in common lung cancer in half and significantly reduces the ability of the cancer to spread!
Researchers at Harvard tested the chemical THC in both lab and mouse studies. They say this is the first set of experiments to show that the compound, THC actually activates naturally produced receptors to fight off lung cancer. The researchers suggest that THC or other designer agents that activate these receptors might be used in a targeted fashion to treat lung cancer.
Although a medical substitute of THC, known as Marinol, has been used as an appetite stimulant for cancer patients and other similar treatments, few studies have shown that THC might have anti-tumor activity.
*HERE IS THE INTERESTING PART* The only clinical trial testing THC as a treatment against cancer growth was a recently completed British pilot study. For three weeks, researchers injected standard doses of THC into mice that had been implanted with human lung cancer cells, and found that tumors were reduced in size and weight by about 50 percent in treated animals compared to a control group. There was also about a 60 percent reduction in cancer lesions on the lungs in these mice as well as a significant reduction in protein markers associated with cancer progression.

Big PHARMA has society brainwashed into thinking that there is no cure for cancer. Yeah, there is no patentable cure for cancer. Thus they will not profit if research concludes that marijuana and all the other alternative remedies can cure cancer.
This is a crime against humanity! And we do nothing about it. We are sheep. Satisfied to take a pill and swallow all the bullshit they can shovel into our wide open mouths.

Most of you are idiots. If THC was a cure for cancer, why wouldn't a pharmaceutical test, prove, grow and manufacture this stuff! They would make billions! Wanna know why they haven't? It's cause it doesn't cure cancer! This "study" (if it even exists, there is no link), didn't describe how effective traditional medcine on these lung cancer cells. I'm sure it performs better than thc!

Really? You really think an all natural CURE for cancer is wanted by the pharmaceutical companies? Even if they were able to patent and profit off of it somehow there is no way it would rival the money brought in now by all their cancer treatments on the market. This is the sick mentality we are fighting against. It isn't about just wanting to get high. It is about fighting tyranny. It is about fighting these greed stricken pharma-giants profiting off the pain, suffering and death of others.
With all the tests pointing to the fact that cannabanoids actually do have lots of potential to help a variety of illnesses wouldn't you imagine they would be running many, many tests on the herb? However, the tests are few and far between. Perhaps it is because it is classified as a schedule I drug which severly dampers the amount of research that could be occuring, leading to more cures. Did I mention that one requirement of being a schedule I drug is it must have "no accepted medical use"? To not see the blatant lies and propaganda put forth in the prohibition of cannabis is obvious evidence of not having done your own research. Agreeing that the war on a plant is based upon racism, greed and public ignorance and is now still enforced along some of those same lines now is it possible that they don't stop there? Is it possible that some really do know this will cure cancer but are also well aware of the potential financial loss involved? The research is out there. It grows more and more constantly. Do your own research, educate yourself.

In response to why the pill pushers haven't tested and produce a cure with hemp, it's because they are not allow to patient substances that grow naturally and call it there own. They have tried to make a synthetic form to patient but have not succeeded as of yet, they can't reproduce the THC. Remember it's greed folks, I had to learn the hard way myself. I watched my father die a horrible death from cancer and cemo, he could not even take the full treatment because they were so toxic to him, To this day I believe the cemo kill him faster then the cancer. But I was young and did not know what I know now. God bless bye.

Pharma does not want people well. If people get well, they lose business.
They only want to sell manufactured, patentable drugs that mask symptoms,
and in turn cause you more problems in many cases.
It is the same reason they are trying to make it illegal to get things like
vitamin C over the counter. Look up Codex Alimentarius. These bastards,
and the DEA want you to be sick. Eugenics is alive and well.

Please folks this fight to get a real cure for cancer has been going on for quite sometime. But please understand this, marijuana was a name made up to demonize hemp. We use to sell it in this country in the late 1800's early 1900's Then the corporate pill pushers at that time got it demonize and made it illegal. Even for a short time during WWII we used it to make rope from hemp for the troops. They have know it's health benefit for 100 years and more. Lastly the hemp oil must be extracted in the right way, and don't confuse it with hemp seed oil which is different. Also a certain type of hemp must be used. Talk to a expert on hemp and learn to make yourself. And to all you who think smoking is all you need to do, not so, you need a concentrated form of THC to get the health benefit of it. Remember when you burn something you carbonize it, and it becomes a carcinogen to the body. Remember your body is natural system, so don't drink or eat things that are not natural. If God didn't make it, don't eat it. Take care of yourself because the evil greedy health system we have in the U. S sure won't.

Designer agent?!? In a world of real "designer drugs," where the side effects have a 50/50 chance of being worse than the treated condition, how can we confuse THC with that crap?!? THC, cannabis, marijuana, hemp.... all the same plant, the pot plant. No adverse side effects, most people love the natural side effects and have for centuries, and the side effects can naturally be altered through horticultural breeding. There is no possible way to overdose on natural cannabis, no matter how it is raised or cultivated... unless the companies get their hands on it and try to produce "safe" chemical varieties of the drug so that us poor, uneducated citizens wont be harmed by nature.

It is quite evident the extent of the governments brainwashings. You all have been made to think the hemp plant, nick named marijuana to try and demoralize it, is a terrible thing. You freely attack those who use it freely. You think you know all the answers and that marijuana is a terrible thing. Well, I guess all those tax dolars taken out of our wallets has done the job. Bravo, the government controls your brain. For those who have actually done some research, aside from accepting whatever the goverment tells you in commercials as truth, you probably found a far different truth. Marijuana has been used for thousands of years. It has many uses, some yet to be discovered. Did you know the hemp plant generates more oxygen than any other plant on the planet? Or how a bio-degradeable plastic can be made from hemp? How about the fact that one acre of hemp can produce the paper equivilant of 3 acres of trees in 1/100th the amount of time?(Hemp grows in 1 season, trees take 100 years). I love how people actually think they know how bad something is, just because somebody else told them it was. You AMERICA, HAVE BEEN BRAINWASHED! THC DOES cure cancer, it attacks the cancerous cells, while not harming the healthy ones. Do some research before commenting please, ignorant people are what hurts society.

People, just do some research. yes start with the rick simpson story but do not stop there. google pot cures cancer and see all the research that has been done.
Big phrama knows this is a cure but they don't want to share it with the people.
So people have to find a way...grow your own and make the cure.

Wow reason21 you really laid it out how i wished i couldve said it a long time ago. i really think you need to be a motivational speaker for marijuana legalization or decriminalization. i myself have been a heavy user for a year and a half now and when i started i was not working and i had dropped out of college. now im back attending college with a 3.5 GPA and ia also have a side job. i have also been doing a little nickel and dime dealing for the past 6 months. SO if anything weed has helped me turn around my life in the past year and a half and it has been very motivational. now i may be a heavy user but i dont walk around high all the time like youd imagine. i use at least 3-5 times a day though. and some people may want weed to cure cancer just to be legal but thats fine! and for all the ignorant people who wont look at the facts because you were born in an era where you were told weed was for blackies, please look at the new and updated REAL research facts about marijuana. if legalized the government would save millions on law enforcement plus gain millions witht the tax and sale of marijuana. so please do the pot smoking community a favor and smoke some weed and read some more blogs like this one

Interesting. I've been doing my own research and didn't find a whole lot. But what I did find was indicative of thc having atleast some use in cancer treatment. As far as a 'cure,' I'd like to see more research, but what I've seen thus far is hopeful!
