THE ATTAR PROJECT TAKES CENTRE STAGE AT SFU SURREY

Simon Fraser University and Western Front New Music present The Attar
Project at SFU Surrey on Thursday, November 9 at 7 p.m. This free
show, the last in the Dance to the Music series, will showcase violin
and tabla musicians accompanied by dance performers Parmella
Attariwala, Gitanjali Kolanad and Shawn Mativetsky.  With her
unparalleled blending of Western and South Asian cultures, Parmela
Attariwala has become one of the most original and compelling
performers in Canada. Attariwala weaves an intriguing tapestry of
music and dance, twining contemporary composition and classical
virtuosity with traditional Indian rhythms. The performance is open
to the community and will be held on the mezzanine level of the
Central City campus located at 13450-102 Avenue in Surrey. Free
parking, limited seating. For more information: 604.291.3210/268.6828
