Thousands of Edmonton Oilers fans jammed the city's bar district to celebrate their team's nail-biting 4-3 victory over Detroit which advanced the Oilers to the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs. Strangers high-fived each other from car windows on Whyte Avenue on Monday night, while fans on the sidewalks hugged anyone who was wearing an Oilers jersey. A street performer with a saxophone played the theme from Hockey Night in Canada, but was almost completely drowned out by the din of honking horns and cheers of "Go Oilers!"
