The Frames, huge in Ireland and looking to gain a following in North America, more than the cult status they currently enjoy. I hadn't really heard too much about either of these bands before this show. So I didn't know what to expect. I'm here to tell ya, you can expect to be blown away by the soaring vocals and the wall of sound put out by The Frames and their lead singer Glen Hansard. Joining him are, Joe Doyle on Bass guitar, Colm Mac Con Iomaire on Violin, Rob Bochnik on Lead Guitar and Johnny Boyle on Drums. The crowd was very much a part of the show. A large portion of them obviously very familiar with The Frames' song lyrics. Several songs had great sing a long choruses delivered with gusto from the enthusiastic crowd. "People Get Ready", "Revelate", "Rent Day Blues", and "Sad Songs" just to name a few. Another fun part of the night was when The Frames do a mini Bob Marley medly of "No Woman No Cry" and "Redemption Song" . Their new disc is "The Cost" and another good cd to pick up is called "Set List" recorded live in Dublin, Ireland in November of 2002. These guys deserve to break it big on this side of the pond. It would be remiss of me if I didn't also recommend the support act, Jets Overhead hailing from Victoria, B.C. Their new cd is "The Bridge". Go see 'em, buy the cd. Cheers----Dreaski
