On Sunday june 10, 2007 in San Francisco Golden Gate Park there was a race held in support of "THE MOUNTAIN GORILLAS" and the fragile forest they call home.  This was a 7k 4.3 mile run.  There are about 700 Mountain Gorillas and eastern lowland Gorillas of Central Africa remaining.  The race started about 9am and finished about 10am.  The event lasted through about 1pm Sunday.  To support a Gorilla there are lots of sights that you can visit on the internet.  SUPPORT A GORILLA TODAY.

szsurge, do you know roughly how many runners participated? I wonder if they outnumber the actual gorillas! Events like this are what make San Francisco such a cool city.

szsurge, thanks for posting this. Please do feel free to post some of the links to the gorilla sites in your story, as it will help people find the cause more easily (in my experience if you don't help people find this info, they won't do it themselves). Please do also feel free to add useful tags to your stories to help people find your work more easily. If you need help with this, feel free to send me a message.
