The Implicit Arrogance of Steve Rubel

So, I subscribe to Rubel's blog and I have to say, I usually quite like his stuff. However, his most recent post is indicative of the annoying arrogance that has become part and parcel of the so called A list bloggers. Rubel wants people to pitch him for 'link love'. Give me a fucking break. Who the hell is this guy anyway? A PR flack who suddenly people read....come on. Steve, I like your writing and enjoy your links...but please, save the implicit ego until it is deserved. This whole blogosphere glad handing bullshit is making me sick...anyone else feel that way?

I have been getting anywhere from 10 to 50 pitches for blog mentions per day via email plus a handful more by del.icio.us. A few of the pitches are excellent, some are ok and the rest are, well, ridiculous and sad. I think it's punishment for all of those years of pain I inflicted on journalists! Since it's the end of summer and I am in a really goofy mood, it's time to shake it up a bit. Let's see who's on their game!
