One of the world’s first virtual newspapers, the Avastar, was launched today and will be available to the two million users of Second Life, a popular virtual world that boasts an impressive real-life economy.

Avastar is published by the Axel Springer Group and publishes information and gossip about the virtual world inhabited by Second Life residents.

The paper is free online, but will cost 150 Linden dollars after the launch period.
