The scent of a technosexual

Calvin Klein is sheer genius. He has created a fragrance for the generation that grew up behind their computers, the kids that spend hours on sites like MySpace, Facebook and Youtube. He calls them "technosexuals." The generation that emails, texts, IM's, and connects online for a sense of community, rather than having real interaction. The name of the new scent? CKin2u. It resembles an iPod, as it comes in a white and clear casing. Although the concept for the marketing of the scent is cool, what is more interesting is this notion of using scents as a way to connect to people's desires, sexual preferences and sexuality.
This is a portrait of a generation they describe as physically bold but emotionally guarded, having grown up using computers as a primary means of interaction. Now young adults, they are post-Abercrombie, post-Juicy Couture and over any number of scents derived from the essences of Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.
